Rotary E-Connect Expands Green Initiative Through Environmental Education

Overview

Rotary E-Connect has strengthened its commitment to environmental sustainability and community development through its Maintenance-Linked Livelihood Project at the Micro Diversity Park. Launched in 2021 with the plantation of 500 fruit-bearing and flowering saplings, the initiative was designed not only to enhance green cover but also to support local livelihoods. To ensure the long-term survival and healthy growth of these saplings, Rotary E-Connect engaged a dedicated gardener, creating employment while promoting sustainable park maintenance. Building on this success, Rotary E-Connect has now established a learning space within the park to serve as a hub for environmental education. The facility will provide students from nearby government schools with opportunities to connect with nature through workshops, guided nature walks, and interactive learning sessions. These activities will focus on biodiversity conservation, climate awareness, ecological balance, and sustainable lifestyles. By combining environmental restoration with education and livelihood support, Rotary E-Connect is creating a model that nurtures both people and the planet, inspiring younger generations to become responsible stewards of the environment.
