Udaykumar K. Bhaskara
District Governor 2023-24
DG Rtn. Uday Kumar K Bhaskara is the Charter member of Rotary Bangalore Cubbon Park and
was the eighth President of the club in the year 2003-04.
The club got its unique identity of winning the ‘Most Innovative Project’ of the year award
for JAWS - Job Access with Speech software which enables the computer keyboard to serve
as a voice-enabled interface. This was in partnership with Ann Foundation of New York and
this project supports several Blind schools across the City of Bangalore and Karnataka.
He pioneered the new concept of KINDERACT Clubs for the District 3190, Rotary for the
tiny tots and started 20 clubs in 2 years as its Chairman.
Over the years, he served in vital roles in the District as Assistant Governor, Director
International Service, Director CSR, Board meeting Coordinator and as the District Deputy
Trainer. This experience has taught him more than what he could ever impart. The best
experience in his Rotary career was being the District Director for Club Service, wherein
several first-time initiatives were introduced by the District. He helped redesign and
reformat the concept of Club Service programs in one of the toughest phases COVID-19
Pandemic.
He is a regular contributor and Major donor to The Rotary Foundation.
A native of the city of Bangalore, he grew up in a joint family imbibing good human values
and the principles of peaceful coexistence.
He studied at the National High school and later enrolled in the Sathya Sai University for
graduation under the direct blessings and guidance of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai baba who
remains his spiritual mentor and guide.
His career began with The Vysya Bank Ltd, before he ventured out to begin his
entrepreneurial journey by incubating Rappers and Packers, a manufacturing industry for
paper Corrugated boxes and has successfully managed the business for the last 27 years
and remains its Managing Partner to date. He is additionally, the Director of QED Agro
Systems Pvt Ltd, the makers of colour sorters used in the rice and pulses industry.
He is the Founder and CEO of Karunathma Fine Art, creators of world-class brass paintings.
The first 4 paintings were donated to raise funds for the End Polio campaign through an
auction held in the presence of RI President 2015-16, KR Ravindran in Bangalore. This
unique art is set to go across the globe shortly.
He has been the Secretary of KCBMA - Karnataka Corrugated Boxes Manufacturers
Association, is a Lifetime trustee of Sri Lalitha Devi Trust which propagates the chanting of
Lalitha Sahasranama.
He is a Member of Board of Studies of BMS University
Born to Shri Bhaskara Kantharaj Setty and Smt Manoranjithamma, he is married to Radhika
Bhaskara who is a member of the Inner Wheel Club of Bangalore Southwest and an active
partner in all his endeavours. He is a well loved member of his extended family of three
sisters, two brothers and nieces and nephews.
He believes in simple and peaceful living and reflects a positive attitude to life.
